Some of the lucky New Hampshire residents this season are enjoying all that fall in our region has to offer: pumpkin spice everything, farmer’s markets, fireplaces on chilly nights, and little league soccer. I know the last one seems a little unorthodox, but it happens to be a great thing to witness when you have a tiny family member involved, and when you yourself are not a four year old trying to figure out what soccer is!
The best thing about supporting your little ones in the local youth soccer league are those crisp, fall nights on the turf with hot cocoa and flannel blankets. As silly as it is to watch the youngest kids try to take the ball from their own team members while they play on a quarter of a full soccer field, you can’t help but feel proud of them and hope they’ll show signs of future, adult athleticism. My four-year old cousin is showing his early signs of sports loving while still unsure what it means to be “out of bounds.” It’s pretty funny watching the Dad refs trying to get them to stop and come back on the field!
Game schedules have already started for the kids of Laconia Youth Soccer! Businesses like the Bank of NH, Autoserv, Happy Cow, and Jolly Jumpers are sponsoring kids at Robbie Mills Field, Opechee Park, the Elm Street School, and Woodland Heights. Parents are all signed up to help out with raffles, team snacks, and the dreaded snack bar full of Big League Chew and mozzarella sticks! Not to mention the aforementioned hot cocoa…
Share pictures of your little leaguers enjoying their fall games with us on social media! Share your flannel, hot cocoa selfies with us too! We look forward to seeing your shared family photos and giving you 20% off your shuttle ride to the airport when you escape our winter cold before the year is out! Just post your photo and tag us #LakesRegAirportShuttle.
