How to spend Thanksgiving in New Hampshire
Posted On: 11/07/2017Thanksgiving is a time to come together with family, friends, and other loved ones, and give thanks. What better place to spend it than beautifully autumnal New Hampshire? There are so many wonderful places to get away, or chow down on some delicious holiday food.
Portsmouth is a cozy city along the water. The Strawbery Banke Museum hosts an annual interactive exhibit that shows how Thanksgiving has evolved in the states for the past 300 years. There are also costumed guided tours, displays of old-fashioned toys, and kids arts and crafts, making this the perfect spot to bring young children. Portland’s up-and-coming culinary scene also has some excellent dining options that remain open on the holiday and have festive Thanksgiving prix-fixe menus. Portland is also just a short shuttle ride from Manchester, so book your Lakes Region shuttle as soon as possible!
For nature lovers, there’s no more beautiful place to spend the holiday than Bretton Woods. Their annual three-day celebration at the Omni Mount Washington Resort includes a full traditional American Thanksgiving meal, flag football games, arts and crafts vendors, and an annual Turkey Trot. North Conway is another naturally beautiful place to spend the holiday outdoors. Located close to the White Mountains, rent a vacation rental for a holiday full of hiking, biking, fishing, and more. North Conway also has a huge number of outlet shops, so you’re sure to make the most of your Black Friday.
No matter where you decide to escape for the holidays in New Hampshire, Lakes Region has your back, with a fleet that is able to accommodate parties of any size!
