We live in a world where smaller is more economical, cuter, and sometimes even better than bigger! We love tiny desserts, tiny dogs, and even tiny abodes! Lately, the biggest commodity is the smallest living space that can go as far as two hours out of Boston with a company called Getaway. It’s a cabin on wheels that rents like a Uhaul and sleeps like a happy hiker off the trail.
How Getaway Works
Once you’ve decided to rent a cabin on wheels for a weekend of Walden Pond-esque discovery, you have to choose which level cabin you want and where you want to go. The cabins are set up in remote locations surrounding Boston where landowners have offered space to the company for set-up. The company gives you the location and your task is to head out and find it! All you have to do is choose the cabin based on the number of people in your party (1-4), and set out into the wilderness.
There are three cabins available for rent and each are named after women who influenced the business owners to continue being adventurous in the wilderness: The Clara, The Lorraine, and The Ovida. The Clara sleeps two people, has a toilet, a propane stove, a grill, and a shower. From there, The Lorraine sleeps 3 people and The Ovida, 4. The cabins are beautifully minimalistic and warm. If the promotional photos and videos are any reflections on an actual stay, Getaway is sure to be the modern camping experience of the decade!
Make a Reservation!
Go to the Getaway website to choose a cabin! On average, you spend as little as $99 a night and chances are that the spots could be in New Hampshire on remote and wooded areas. Or, if you own a large area of land and you’re within two hours of Boston, sign up for Getaway to get some extra cash! Either way, send us your photos with Getaway on Instagram @LakesRegAirport.
