One of the things we love about all of our ventures into social media communication in the Lakes Region is the friendships we’ve acquired across those media platforms. We continue to see the same organizations liking and “double tapping” our posts to Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook. We believe that those relationships are what make this kind of communication great! Besides the back and forth liking, we enjoy getting tagged in postings by other organizations and we are taking today’s blog to share one of those tags with you. Earlier this week, the Prescott Farm Environmental Education Center tagged us in a tweet sharing their fall workshops they hope will bring together and educate families, students, and individuals about their Lakes Region environment! We are transcending our occasional Instagram comments and bringing you information about their incredible organization.
As Told By Prescott…
Prescott Farm presides on 928 White Oaks Road in Laconia where it has been a settled area since before the Revolutionary War! Owned by Colonel Dudley Prescott of the 10th Regiment of the New Hampshire Militia, this land was passed back and forth in the Prescott family between very powerful and intelligent men. In the history of the land, it was split between different family members and divided until 1997 when some of the original land was donated to eventually be part of a non-profit organization committed to conservation and education. Now, the passionate people at Prescott Farm work toward that mission “celebrating the interconnections between our community and the natural systems which sustain us all.”
The Workshops
The media associates at Prescott Farm shared with us a link to the education services they are offering this fall between October and December. They offer programs for Preschool and kindergarten aged kids, events for families, opportunities for youth and homeschooled children, and an entire season of get togethers for adults and families about the season change, migration, and hibernation. Follow the link to see which programs you’d like to be involved in. They are entirely affordable as well as “a la carte” if you don’t have a day every week that you can devote to a project.
Other Opportunities
If you want to combine your visit to Prescott Farm with our services, the farm has an event space still usable in the month of October for whatever celebration you might need to house! Our private charters work to get you and your people where you need to be to have fun and the smallest amount of stress possible. Prescott Farm also has three trails you can adventure on between dawn and dusk every day. The trails are all meant for foot travel so you can pretend like you’re Frodo and Sam on a journey across Farmer Maggot’s Field or...a person taking a walk if you don’t get the reference.
Share your Experiences with Them!
Make sure to find Prescott Farm on Instagram! They have a great following and they’re very responsive to photos from other people (@Prescottfarmenvironedctr). Share your program selfies with them and with us so we know who we’ve referred! Get the most of your New Hampshire season change and learn a little.
