Christmas is coming and so are the high travel prices! Whether you’re trying to get a plane home from school to your family for Thanksgiving, or even planning a family trip for the holidays to Paris like the McAllisters of Home Alone 2, you’re in for a big hole in your pocket. That is unless you’ve got a budget travel plan, in which case you may not have to sew up those emotional holes. Luckily, we did some travel research for you and found a pretty great budget shortcut to help with your winter travels to Europe!
Where Are These Magical Flights Coming From?
Our source for today’s blog posting is Wow Air. Currently, they give flights from Boston and Washington D.C. for pretty low fares! Wow Air is an Icelandic airline that takes you through the Reykjavik terminal and over to other countries. A one way flight to Iceland is currently only $186 before bag fees. From that price, they add on some extra to forward you to Amsterdam, Berlin, Paris, London, and a few other European hot spots. Depending on the time you choose, you could pay about $500 right now for a round trip ticket to see the world!
Is It Real?
The question about this airline is… Is this a joke? Well, we won’t know until we try but we did check on some online reviews to see what was said. Of course, there are always mixed reviews on that type of thing, but the overall rating on airlinequality.com is a 7 out of 10. The consensuses of the postings were that you don’t get any complimentary food on your trip, seats are all assigned, and it’s definitely not a bad choice if you aren’t expecting luxury. There isn’t any WiFi on the plane, food and beverage is so so, staff service is often very good, and the seats recline well enough for overnight comfort!
What Else Can We Look Forward To?
Rumors say that airlines like Wow may soon be able to offer Americans $99 trips across the ocean, which would save us an extra $300. Low cost air travel could make our distance from the European sights feel much closer. We can only hope that it’s the truth! But if you’re planning a European extravaganza soon, let us know how it goes and don’t forget to give us a call for your ride to the airport!
